Forest Areas

It is in the forests where some of the most discreet and exotic animals in our country exist.

Portugal is made up of a wide variety of forest areas, mostly made up of native trees such as cork oak and holm oak in montado areas; maritime pine and stone pine in pine forest areas; oak, chestnut and other trees in areas with deciduous broadleaf trees. However, the tree that is most commonly found is not native: eucalyptus.

Within this variety of forest areas it is possible to find a great diversity of animals. Even animals from one type of forest area in another type of forest area, since forest areas are often mixed, with several types of trees in the same place.
