Wetlands

Portugal is composed of several wetlands. These areas consist of rivers, estuaries, streams, marshes, lakes, lagoons, rias... Listing some of the most prominent wetland regions in Portugal, the most notable is the Tagus River, as well as the other main rivers, such as the Douro, Mondego, Vouga, Sado, and Guadiana, among others.

Within this variety of zones, it is possible to find a great diversity of animals. In particular, amphibians, insects, and birds, which depend on these aquatic environments. The photographed species are organized according to the zones to which they belong and/or their similarity to other species.
